Record of the exhumation of 26 corpses from the month of March to April 1945 in the town of Teplá and its surroundings.

Town of Teplá, August 20th, 1945

Report on the Exhumation Conducted on the 26 Corpses During the Months of March and April of This Year in the Town of Teplá and Its Surroundings.

The exhumations began on August 20th, 1945 at 9:45 AM.

The first grave in the cemetery in Klášter Teplá by the mortuary. At a depth of about one meter lay 10 dead bodies.

Corpse no. 1 male, dressed in a green spotted jacket with a black checkered pattern, no identifying marks, no signs of violence on the body.

Corpse no. 2 no. 6009, female, dressed in a bright floral bathrobe with a band sewn on its left side with the number 6009, no signs of violence on the body.

Corpse no. 3 female, older, between 40-50 years of age, obese, dressed in a rough woolen coat, sweater, blue apron, 15 cm high letters KL on the front, her pockets contained a hairnet, combs, front page of the Volksblatt and Sonnabend dated May 24th, 1941, no signs of violence.

Corpse no. 4 female, between 25-30 years of age, healthy teeth, dressed in a similar coat as corpse no. 3, cotton sweater, rough shirt, knit pants, letters A K stamped on them.

Corpse no. 5 female, around 30 years of age, medium height, dressed in a gray-green linen coat with the letters KL, under that a bright red and white floral dress and rough cotton underwear, on the left side of the coat at the level of the collarbone, a 10 cm thick band is missing, likely a removed number.

Corpse no. 6 female, of indeterminate age, dressed in a light raincoat, a cotton sweater, a skirt, long woolen socks, and synthetic silk embroidered underwear, a missing number, no signs of violence.

Corpse no. 7 female, medium height, according to her jaw between 35-40 years of age, missing front incisors, rather thin frame, hands seem thin, dressed in a linen coat, under it a rough green and brown spotted knit sweater with the letters KL, no identifying marks, no signs of violence.

Corpse no. 8 N 61 382, female with long hair, 30-35 years of age, dressed in a raincoat, under it a knit dress, a band sewn on the left side with the numbers N 63 382, no signs violence, false teeth.

Corpse no. 9 V 60 028 female, dark hair, gold teeth and gold inlay, dressed in a bathrobe and a rough gray shirt with a band sewn on the left side with the numbers V 60 028, no signs of violence on the body.

Corpse no. 10 31 019, female, dark hair, a scarf over her head tied under her chin, rough red sweater, the number 31 019 sewn on the inner side of the coat in a smaller font than the other bodies, no signs of violence.

The second grave behind the left wall of the cemetery contained the bodies of 4 men, POWs, at a depth of about 1 meter.

Corpse no. 1 male, dressed in a green uniform, wearing clog boots, a rough shirt and a blue sweater, a badge with the letters and numbers KGF NR 0329 (Z) IV Bau Stl. KGF 130/I found in a pocket, the bones of his right temple and the top of his head are broken, intruding inwardly at a diagonal angle.

Corpse no. 2 male, dressed in a rough gray-yellow coat, green undergarments, linen shirt and rough sweater, under it a rough shirt, on his underpants there was a wooden case with a letter inside stating Marmorwerke Herold and the signature Kurt Gross, dated May 1933, in his pants pocket a covered tin badge with the letters and numbers KGF NR 0330 2/LW Bau Batl. KGF 130/I, the letter and identifying badge handed over to the police, shattered right side of the skull with dull, smaller 2-3 cm skull fragments.

Corpse no. 3 dressed in a green coat, similar undergarments, rough clog boots, under his coat a yellow-gray linen shirt, pockets with buttons with a five-pointed star, temple has been inwardly crushed, fragments have been pushed inside the skull, the brain has dissolved into a soft substance, by the corpse a primitive wooden scale was found, a small pouch made of rough linen contained several pieces of wartime soap, there was also a box containing red salt and a small sack of grain.

Corpse no. 4 male, similarly dressed as the others, shattered left side of his skull, a badge with the numbers and letters KGF Nr. 0161/W Bau Btl. KGF 130/I found in a pocket, a medallion with the words consula tua est on one side and agnus dei on the other written in gold was handed over to the police.

Third grave located about 5 steps away from the second grave. 8 corpses uncovered at a depth of about 1 meter.

Corpse no. 1 female, slender build, dressed like the corpses in the 1st group, one gold crown on a tooth, on the inner side of her coat a linen band with the number 63 415, no signs of violence.

Corpse no. 2 female, about 40 years old, dressed in a rough linen dress, a rough knitted sweater, over her dress a red woolen sweater, on her head a gray knit bonnet fastened with a button, inside her mouth a gold dental bridge replacing her front teeth, her chest and stomach were tied with a paper bandage, no signs of torture on the body.

Corpse no. 3 female without clothes, found with her legs bent, no signs of violence.

Corpse no. 4 female, middle-aged, slender build, blue sweater with the word Häftling in the middle, in a dark blue dress, under that checkered synthetic silk underwear, no signs of violence.

Corpse no. 5 female, medium build, dressed in a bright red sweater with red buttons, dark brown hair, no signs of violence.

Corpse no. 6 female, also middle-aged, dressed in a rough linen skirt with wide blue stripes, a blue and yellow dress, a gray jacket, no signs of violence.

Corpse no. 7 female, smaller build, middle-aged, dressed in a dark gray raincoat, on her left sleeve an armband with a dark red triangle with the number 51 410, under her coat a dark red sweater stitched together at the waist with dark blue underwear, no signs of violence.

Corpse no. 8 female, dressed in a linen coat with the letters KL, premium papers with the letterhead KZ Flossenbürg found in a pocket, no signs of violence.

Fourth grave by the road from the town of Teplá to Otročín, about 1 km away from Teplá, XX m 1Note 1: Illegible, most probably 60 or 80. from the road. A twisted corpse located at a depth of only ⅓ m due to a lack of space.

Corpse male, soldier, about 25 years of age, dressed in a dark green uniform with a five-pointed star, broken forehead and temple, skull fragments found in his skull cavity, common daily use items found in his pockets, no identifying marks.

Fifth grave located close to the village of Kladruby. The grave was located by the Chorhütte courtyard in a field about 300 m from this courtyard. Body recovered at a depth of about ½ m.

Corpse of a woman, about 40 years of age, in an advanced stage of decomposition, dressed in a dark coat and dark gray sweater, on the left side a tag with the number 33924 half crumbled and hard to read.

Sixth grave in the same field about 1 ½ m away from the fifth grave. 2 corpses uncovered at a depth of about ½ m.

Corpse no. 1 male, of indeterminate age, dressed in a dark coat and sweater, no identifying marks, top four back teeth on the left side connected by a gold bridge, 4 teeth on the right side connected by a metal bridge.

Corpse no. 2 male, in an advanced stage of decomposition, of indeterminate age, dressed in a striped coat, a sweater, and striped pants, no other identifying marks.

Participated: Senior doctor and director of the municipal hospital in Plzeň MUDr. A. Čech, regional doctor MUDr. Dobroslav Svoboda from Mar. Lázně, head of the OSK office in the town of Teplá chief commander of the police Boh. Nebáznivý, OSK chairman Josef Marel, representative of the National Security Corps, representatives of the garrison, representative of the US Army.

Germans were made to dig up the dead bodies.

The funeral was scheduled and took place the same day at 5 PM, tastefully executed.
